I cannot believe that summer is winding down and already the Back to School advertising and mayhem has begun! It has been decades since I have gone back to school, but there is something about September that instills a slight sense of anxiety, excitement for sweaters and pumpkins and then before you know it, it's Christmas and the end of the year! I think the latter half of the calendar year just flies by because of how much happens in a short few months before getting the breather we all need in January. I am hoping to get a few more blog posts in before we go on vacation next week starting with this one for my June Ipsy Original Bag! I feel like the theme for June was "Prom/Graduation" with the taffeta bow inspired makeup bag which was cute, but not one of their nicer bags as I feel like the fabric would be hard to clean.

KATE SOMERVILLE | Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream

This moisturizer has been so talked about over the years, but I have never gotten around to trying it even in sample form - until now! The texture is slightly milky and lightweight, but most importantly absorbs quickly and leaves skin feeling almost creamy to the touch! Depending on how this goes, maybe I will get the full size! I received the deluxe size valued at $35.70 CDN (Full size is $119 CDN/50mL).
ATHR BEAUTY | Desert Mirage Blurring Powder in Sagebrush

I have tried an eyeshadow and a lipgloss from Athr Beauty so this powder was a welcome product in this month's Ipsy Bag! I have also really been into setting powders this year and with my going away next week, this is the perfect travel size! The finish is translucent and the powder finely milled and while I wouldn't call this powder exactly "skin blurring", it takes out shine without adding chalkiness. This is the shade Sagebrush which is a lavender powder made for fair skin. The packaging is also fully recyclable as it is free of magnets and mirrors. I received the deluxe size valued at $28 CDN (Full size is $59 CDN/9.5g).
REINA REBELDE | Rebel Eye Definer Long-Wear Gel Liner in Traviesa

I last had a Reina Rebelde product two years ago and enjoyed it so I was delighted to see an eyeliner! This formula was so creamy that I barely had to apply any pressure AND once set, it really did not budge! I tried it smoked out as well (it has a smudger on the other side of the pencil) and my eye makeup turned out well! Super impressed! I received the FULL SIZE valued at $19 USD.
DEAR MIDNIGHT | Lip Sugar Scrub

Though this smells good, it is no different than most lip scrubs I have tried with its hydrating oil base and sugar granules. I actually prefer the ones from Lush as the granules are much finer and of course taste good enough to lick off (no, really!). Also, the website for Dear Midnight shows the lip scrub as being HUGE and now there are no longer any products so is this even a real brand? I received the FULL SIZE valued at $16 USD.
OLIVIAUMMA | Milky Resurfacing + Brightening Toner Pads

I love toner pads like these that are thin enough to use as a sheet mask should you feel like leaving them on or swiped on as a toner/serum treatment. These pads are soaked in bakuchiol and niacinamide and do sting a little bit so when I use them, I apply a really soothing moisturizer, preferably gel-based for extra cooling. I received the deluxe size valued at $7 USD (Full size is $48 USD/60 pads).

Final verdict: I liked pretty much everything in here! Yes, the lip scrub was just OK, but it's still a product I use regularly! The total value of the June Ipsy Original bag was...drumroll please...$121.96 CDN! I honestly think everything has just gotten too expensive and that a lip scrub with the exchange rate is $20 is a little excessive. Also, the full size of the Kate Sommerville moisturizer is crazy expensive too! I like the products, just not the prices!
Have a great week everyone and until next time!
